Something weird has been happening lately. The Law of Attraction keeps cropping up in my conversations with people. Just over the past 10 days, so many people have asked me something about visualization, or manifesting your desires, that I thought I just have to write a blog post about it.
For those of you who are relatively new to the concept of Law of Attraction, a process used to manifest your dreams in life, and need some background, head here to read some of my pieces:
Law of Attraction – write it down
There is a technique I first read about a couple of years back – where you write a letter (or an email) to the Universe, thanking it for making your dream come true. I tried it back then and it worked quite well! I have, however, come up with something similar, yet new, which I feel works even better. It barely takes 15 minutes and brings you into a very positive frame of mind and much closer to your dream.
Here’s my take on this – instead of writing to the Universe, which might feel outright weird to some of you, why not write a letter to your best friend, or a family member? You don’t need to send it – you only need to write the letter as if it is addressed to them. Why, you ask?
The reasons are twofold – first, it will be easier for the words to flow. It will simply feel more realistic. And secondly, you can describe in great detail all about your dream(s), without feeling lame – we do share everything with our best friends, no?
The basic concept is simple. Whatever it is that you want, just describe it in a letter format, as if it has already come true. Make sure you write it in the present tense. Don’t forget to thank the Universe or God (or whatever higher spirit you believe in) for all of it and more.
For example, for someone who wants a house, the letter can go something like:
“I love my new house! It has 4 spacious bedrooms and a sprawling lawn at the back. But my favorite part is the swimming pool area and the patio – oh, how I love having my breakfast in the sun!…..”
But, what’s the point?
Well, writing our thoughts down, as if they have already happened, will make your subconscious believe that it has already happened. Do it long enough, and it will start believing it too, bringing you closer to your dream.
Also, in one way, this process is similar to Vision Boards. For those of you who haven’t heard of it, here’s a piece I wrote once – Manifest your dreams – Step#1: Ask
These boards help you move closer to your dreams by making your subconscious mind believe in their constant existence.
Third, what have you got to lose? Writing the letter feels soo good and happy – need I give you more reasons?
What after I’ve written it?
It doesn’t matter what you do with the letter once you’ve written it. You can delete it, actually send it to someone (or yourself), just keep it in your “Drafts” folder or simply save it somewhere on your laptop. I personally like saving them somewhere, so that months or years later, when that dream comes true, I can go back to my letter and see how true it was 🙂 That one never fails to impress me!
So what are you waiting for? Go write that letter now!
And oh, happy manifesting 🙂
Please let me know your experiences with the letter writing.
